At our preschool, we believe every child is unique and deserves the right support to help them reach their full potential.​ We provide tailored support for all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

 

How We Support Children

We use a range of tools to help us understand each child's individual needs. This includes WellComm, a digital toolkit that helps identify and support speech and language difficulties, as well as the Teddy Talk Test, which gives us valuable insight into each child’s level of understanding and communication.

Working with Families 

Our practitioners work closely with families, listening to their needs and concerns whilst working collaboratively with all agencies to ensure that children have the best start in life. We regularly observe, assess, plan and review each child’s progress using our SEND framework to ensure the right support is in place.

Targeted Support

For children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), we provide targeted, daily support to help them prepare for a smooth transition to school. This includes daily one-to-one activities, the use of ‘Now and Next’ boards, and 100-word lists to build communication skills and independence.

Additional Support

When needed, we can also help families access specialist support from outside agencies, such as Speech and Language Therapy or Barnardo’s Charity.
